The Team C.U.R.E. Organization BIO

In 1999 a group of cyclists formed Team C.U.R.E. to participate in organized bike rides that benefit people suffering from serious illnesses. Team C.U.R.E. (Cyclists' United Ride Effort) is an established team which participates in a variety of organized bicycle rides each year such as: Mission to Mission, Tour d' Cypress, Gator Ride, King Ranch Ride, NovemberFest, The Williams 100K Classic benefiting The Leukemia Society, The Alamo Challenge ( Now the "Bike To The Lake") benefiting the American Lung Association of Texas, and The "MS 150 Bike Tours" benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and many more rides. To participate in the bike rides the team collects donations for the organizations. Team C.U.R.E. regularly participates in the largest MS 150 ( Houston to Austin) and most recently the HEB MS150 "Bike to the Beach" (San Antonio to Corpus Christi) and we actively volunteer for and promote the "Pedal Partners" program. The BP MS 150 ( Houston to Austin) is a two-day, ~180-mile tour which draws more than 8000 riders. It benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter. The MS 150 ( Houston to Austin) is the largest fundraiser for the Society, in which ~85% of the money raised will help fund programs and research. There is no cure yet for these causes we ride for, but with support from our sponsors, research can continue.
The goal of Team C.U.R.E. is to raise money and awareness to these causes we ride for and promote. At this time we have members all across Texas committed to these causes. Not all members ride in each of the events, some members help with SAG support while others do both. We do as much as we can when we can!
We're driven by the fact that what we're doing will help many who deserve more from life.

We now annually Host three events, one in Houston,"Team C.U.R.E. Bike Rodeo" where kids help kids, in which all donations go to the A-T Childrens Project and two in San Antonio, the "Missions Family Bike Tour" in which the funds go to the American Cancer Society and the funds from the "Mission to Mission" ride go to the Mission Trails Rotary programs.

We are proud to announce our co-sponsorship of the following Texas events:

>“Tour De Sienna” ending Illetracy in the Fort Bend County and beyond.

>“Bluebonnet Bike Tour” benfiting the Burnet Kiwanis Club - Meals on Wheels and Child Welfare programs

>“Loblolly Liberator” benefiting the Nacogdoches Treatment Center

>"Tour De Cypress" benefiting the Caring for Children Foundation of Texas, Inc.

>A new event in the works now to benefit the ALS(Lou Gehrig's Disease) Association

Along with our promotion of and participation in area benefit rides we also actively participate in the "Adopt-a-Highway" program which is run by the Texas Department of Transportation.

We offer training rides twice a month in the Houston area and regular training rides are being setup for the San Antonio and Dallas/Fort Worth areas.

We are up to about 105 members across Texas and are busy with our Chapters in Houston, San Antonio and in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We are looking for some great people that are ready to help us help others!
